How do I use this Trace Elements Iron 150ml?

It's important to first check your reef tank's iron levels prior to any dosing. This is best done with a professional ICP test. These tests will not only tell you whether your iron levels need adjusting, but your levels of other trace elements too.

Iron is present in reefs across the world, but in most it's thought to be a limiting factor. In a home aquarium, a level of 0.4 µg/l is considered adequate, especially if there's a refugium present that consumes it very rapidly.

To dose, add 1ml of iron per 100L of saltwater. This will increase iron levels by 2 µg/l. As it can be consumed and removed from your aquarium quickly, it's important to dose iron regularly. That said, make sure you also test regularly to avoid overdosing; too much iron can have an effect similar to over-fertilisation.
