Rhino Blenny – Paraclinus marmoratus
Overview:
The Rhino Blenny is a small, striking marine fish notable for its elongated body and distinctive horn-like appendage above the eyes. Active and hardy, it adds personality and natural algae grazing behavior to reef and community aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Eastern Pacific Ocean, particularly along the coasts of Mexico, Central America, and the Gulf of California.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — thrives on algae, high-quality marine flakes or pellets, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Ideal for peaceful reef and community tanks, coexisting well with gobies, clownfish, blennies, and other non-aggressive species.
Aggression:
Generally peaceful, may defend small crevice spaces if housed with other similar blennies.
Experience Level:
Suitable for beginner to intermediate aquarists, thanks to its hardy nature and easy care requirements.
