Rock Damsel – Chrysiptera brownriggi
Overview:
The Rock Damsel is a tough and resilient marine fish with a muted brown to grey body accented with yellow or blue highlights. Active and adaptable, it thrives in reef and fish-only aquariums, making it a reliable choice for aquarists seeking a hardy species.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found around coral reefs and rocky lagoons.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – readily accepts flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with semi-aggressive or similarly hardy fish. While reef-safe, it may chase smaller or timid species, especially in confined spaces.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – territorial, particularly as it matures, but manageable in larger aquariums.
Experience Level:
Beginner-friendly due to its hardiness and adaptability.
