Shiro Utsuri Butterfly Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Shiro Utsuri Butterfly Koi is a visually striking koi with a bold black-and-white pattern and long, flowing fins. Its dramatic contrast and elegant swimming make it a captivating addition to any pond.

Origin:
Developed in Japan, the Shiro Utsuri is part of the traditional Utsurimono family, enhanced with butterfly fins to combine classic coloration with graceful movement.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality koi pellets as the main diet, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Offer 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish like goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, making it ideal for community ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, but requires proper pond size and filtration for optimal health.

• pH: 6.5–8.5

• Water Type: Freshwater

• Minimum Pond Size: 1,000+ gallons recommended
