Corydoras Albino Sterbai Sterbae 4cm Catfish Overview: The Corydoras Sterbae, commonly known as Sterba's Cory, is a small and peaceful freshwater fish, cherished in the aquarium hobby for its playful behavior and attractive appearance. Renowned for their distinctive black and white stripes and a shimmering gold hue on the head and dorsal fin, these catfish reach an adult size of about 2.5 inches, making them perfect for community aquariums. Origin: Native to the river basins of South America, particularly in Brazil and Bolivia, Sterba's Cory thrives in soft, slightly acidic waters. They inhabit slow-moving rivers and streams with sandy bottoms, often seen rummaging through the substrate for food. Feeding: Sterba's Cory is an omnivorous bottom feeder. In the aquarium, they readily accept a variety of foods including high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, frozen, and live foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. A varied diet ensures optimal health and coloration. Tank Mates: This species is extremely peaceful and best kept in groups of at least 5-6, as they are social and feel more secure in numbers. Ideal tank mates include other small, peaceful fish such as tetras, rasboras, and dwarf gouramis. Avoid aggressive or large fish that may intimidate or harm them. Aggression: Sterba's Cory is known for its gentle and peaceful nature. They show no aggressive tendencies towards other fish and are ideal for a community tank setting. Experience Level: They are suitable for both novice and experienced aquarists. Their hardiness and undemanding nature make them an excellent choice for those new to fishkeeping, while their charming behavior and striking appearance appeal to seasoned hobbyists.
