Thor Armoured Sea Catfish Hemiarius Stormii 20cm Overview: The Thor Armoured Sea Catfish (Hemiarius Stormii) is an extraordinary addition to any aquatic enthusiast's collection. With its distinctive armor-like scales and intriguing behavior, this catfish species brings both uniqueness and elegance to your aquarium. Origin: Native to the freshwater river systems of Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand and Indonesia, these catfish inhabit slow-moving waters rich in vegetation. Feeding: Primarily a nocturnal feeder, Thor Armoured Sea Catfish are omnivorous, enjoying a diet consisting of high-quality sinking pellets, frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasional vegetable matter. Tank Mates: These catfish are generally peaceful and can thrive alongside non-aggressive tank mates such as other peaceful community fish like tetras, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and peaceful bottom-dwellers. However, it's advisable to avoid housing them with overly aggressive or large predatory species. Aggression: Known for their docile nature, Thor Armoured Sea Catfish rarely exhibit aggressive behavior. They prefer hiding during the day and may become stressed in highly active or aggressive tank environments. Experience Level: While not excessively difficult to care for, providing suitable conditions for these catfish requires a moderate level of experience in maintaining water quality and understanding their nocturnal behavior. Water Parameters: Maintaining stable water conditions is crucial. Aim for a pH range of 6.5-7.5, a temperature between 72-78°F (22-26°C), and soft to moderately hard water. Adequate filtration and regular water changes are essential for their well-being.
