Threadfin Anthias – Nemanthias carberryi
Overview:
The Threadfin Anthias is a striking marine fish, showcasing a bright orange to reddish body with elongated fin filaments, adding elegance and movement to mid-water reef zones. Highly active and social, they enhance the visual appeal of reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, typically found around coral reefs and rocky drop-offs, including areas such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.
Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other planktonic foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful reef fish. Compatible with other anthias, mid-water schooling fish, and reef-safe species.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups, displaying natural schooling behavior.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and regular feedings.
