Topaz Pufferfish Tetraodon Fluviatilis 5cm Overview: The Topaz Pufferfish, prized for its stunning coloration resembling a precious gem, is a freshwater species known for its engaging personality and unique appearance. Its vibrant golden-yellow body with striking black markings makes it a captivating addition to any aquarium. Origin: Originating from Southeast Asia, particularly in river systems, these pufferfish thrive in slow-moving waters with plenty of vegetation and hiding spots. Feeding: Carnivorous by nature, they have a hearty appetite for meaty foods like live or frozen shrimp, snails, clams, and occasionally small fish. Their diet often benefits from a mix of protein-rich and varied options. Tank Mates: Best suited for a species-only tank due to their territorial and aggressive tendencies, especially toward similar-sized or smaller fish. Peaceful bottom dwellers or fast-swimming species can be stressed or targeted. Aggression: Known for their territorial behavior, Topaz Pufferfish can be aggressive, especially when establishing their territory or during breeding periods. Adequate space and hiding places can mitigate potential conflicts. Experience Level: Recommended for intermediate to experienced aquarists due to their specific care requirements, including understanding their temperament and feeding needs. Water Parameters: Topaz Pufferfish prefer water temperatures between 75°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C) with a pH range of 7.0 to 8.0.
