Two Stripe Humbug Damsel – Dascyllus carneus
Overview:
The Two Stripe Humbug Damsel is a striking and resilient marine fish with a bold white body and two thick black vertical bands. Its hardy nature and eye-catching pattern make it a favorite among saltwater aquarists.
Origin:
Found across the Indian Ocean, particularly around coral reefs and lagoons.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – accepts a wide variety of foods including marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with semi-aggressive or similarly hardy fish. May be territorial toward smaller or docile species. Suitable for reef tanks but may harass very timid tank mates.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – can be territorial, especially in smaller aquariums or when defending its chosen area.
Experience Level:
Beginner-friendly due to its hardiness and adaptability, but some caution needed with community selection.
