Ultra Rock Flower Anemone – Epicystis crucifer

Overview:
The Ultra Rock Flower Anemone is a vibrant and hardy anemone, known for its wide, flower-like appearance and neon-colored tentacles that shimmer under aquarium lighting. Its striking display makes it a favorite centerpiece in both reef and fish-only marine aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found attached to rocks and reef crevices in shallow waters.

Feeding:
Carnivorous – feeds on meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialized invertebrate preparations. Can also derive nutrition from photosynthetic symbionts under strong lighting.

Tank Mates:
Compatible with clownfish and other non-aggressive reef-safe fish. Avoid housing with fish or invertebrates that may nip at or disturb the anemone.

Aggression:
Moderately territorial – capable of stinging nearby corals and invertebrates with its nematocysts.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced aquarists – requires stable water parameters, strong lighting, and careful acclimation.

Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.023–1.026

• Minimum Tank Size: 50+ gallons
