Origin: Native to the rivers and tributaries of Venezuela, the Venezuelan Blue Eyed Pleco thrives in environments with strong water flow and abundant hiding places. They are adapted to life in clear to slightly turbid waters, where they can often be found grazing on submerged wood. Feeding: Primarily herbivorous, the Venezuelan Blue Eyed Pleco has a strong preference for wood, which not only serves as food but also aids in their digestion. Supplement their diet with high-quality vegetable-based foods, such as algae wafers and blanched vegetables, to ensure optimal health and coloration. Tank Mates: This pleco species is generally peaceful and can coexist with a wide variety of tank mates. Ideal companions include small to medium-sized, peaceful fish.
