White Faced Butterfly Fish Chaetodon Mesoleucos Overview: The White Faced Butterfly Fish, with its distinct white face and beautifully patterned body, is a captivating addition to any marine aquarium. This species, belonging to the family Chaetodontidae, showcases a mix of elegance and resilience, making it a prized specimen for fish enthusiasts. Origin: Native to the Western Pacific Ocean, ranging from Indonesia to Japan and southward towards Australia, this species thrives in coral-rich areas of lagoon and seaward reefs, usually found at depths ranging from 3 to 25 meters. Feeding: A carnivorous species, its diet primarily consists of coral polyps, benthic invertebrates, and crustaceans. In captivity, it requires a varied diet including marine flakes, frozen, and live foods to ensure proper nutrition and health. Tank Mates: The White Faced Butterfly Fish generally does well with a variety of other fish species, provided they are not overly aggressive or territorial. Ideal tank mates include other butterflyfish (with careful introduction to avoid competition), small peaceful fish, and invertebrates that are not part of its natural diet. Aggression: This species exhibits a relatively peaceful temperament towards other fish but can become territorial with its own kind or similar looking species. A spacious tank with plenty of hiding spots is recommended to minimize potential aggression. Experience Level: Intermediate. While not the most challenging species to keep, the White Faced Butterfly Fish requires a well-maintained aquarium and a diet that reflects its natural feeding habits to thrive. Water Parameters:

• pH: 8.1 to 8.4
• Salinity: 1.020 to 1.025 SG
• Ammonia/Nitrate Levels: As low as possible, ideally 0 ppm
