White Wakin Goldfish

Overview

The White Wakin Goldfish is an elegant, long-bodied goldfish variety with a pure white coloration and a distinctive double tail, resembling a sleeker, pond-style fantail. Hardy and active, Wakins are excellent swimmers and are well suited to spacious aquariums or outdoor ponds.

Origin

Japan (selectively bred goldfish variety derived from Carassius auratus)

Feeding

• Omnivorous

• High-quality goldfish pellets or flakes

• Supplement with vegetables (peas, spinach)

• Occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms or daphnia

Tank Mates

• Best kept with other fast, long-bodied goldfish (Wakin, Comet, Common)

• Avoid slow fancy goldfish and tropical species

• Peaceful with similar-sized, coldwater fish

Aggression

Peaceful
May outcompete slower fish during feeding due to active nature

Experience Level

Beginner to intermediate
Very hardy, but requires good filtration and space due to size and waste output
