Overview:
The Whitleyi Hawaiian Boxfish is a small, striking marine fish known for its vibrant yellow body dotted with black spots. With its unique box-shaped appearance and slow, deliberate swimming, it adds both color and personality to reef and marine community aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Central Pacific Ocean, particularly around Hawaii.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — thrives on a varied diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, marine algae, and high-quality marine pellets or flakes.
Tank Mates:
Best suited for peaceful reef and community tanks, avoiding very small or delicate fish that may be stressed.
Aggression:
Generally peaceful, relying on its spiny, boxy body for protection rather than aggression.
Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists, due to its specialized care requirements and sensitivity to water quality.
