Xanthotis Angelfish – Apolemichthys xanthotis
Overview:
The Xanthotis Angelfish is a rare and visually striking marine species, featuring a white body accented with bold black markings and bright yellow highlights around the eyes and fins. Its vibrant coloration makes it a standout centerpiece for large saltwater aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, particularly around Indonesia, the Philippines, and northern Australia.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — thrives on a diet of sponge-based angelfish foods, marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful to moderately aggressive fish such as tangs, Wrasses, and anthias. Avoid housing with other large angelfish unless in very spacious aquariums.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive — may display territorial behavior toward similar-shaped species.
Experience Level:
Recommended for advanced aquarists, requiring stable, mature aquarium conditions and a varied diet.
