Yellow Filefish – Cantherhinus fronticinctus

Overview:
The Yellow Filefish is a unique and eye-catching marine species, featuring a slender, laterally compressed body with bright yellow coloration and subtle patterning. Known for its curious behavior and distinctive shape, it makes a fascinating addition to reef aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around coral reefs and rocky outcrops.

Feeding:
Omnivorous – feeds on a variety of algae, small invertebrates, and prepared marine foods. In captivity, offer a mix of spirulina, marine algae, mysis shrimp, and high-quality pellets.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful community fish. Avoid aggressive species that may harass or outcompete the Yellow Filefish.

Aggression:
Generally peaceful, though may nibble on delicate corals or small invertebrates in reef setups.

Experience Level:
Intermediate – suitable for aquarists with experience maintaining stable reef or marine aquariums.

• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 55+ gallons
