Yellow Wakin Goldfish

Overview

The Yellow Wakin Goldfish is a striking and elegant variety of goldfish, closely related to the Common Goldfish but with a sleeker body and distinctive twin tail. Its bright yellow to golden coloration makes it a standout in ponds and large aquariums. Hardy and active, Wakins are excellent display fish that thrive in cooler water environments.

Japan (selective breeding from common goldfish)

Feeding

• Omnivorous

• Feed high-quality goldfish pellets or flakes

• Supplement with vegetables (peas, spinach) and occasional frozen foods

• Avoid overfeeding to maintain water quality

Tank Mates

• Best kept with other hardy, fast-swimming goldfish

• Compatible with Common, Comet, and other Wakin goldfish

• Avoid slow or delicate fancy goldfish

Aggression

Peaceful and non-aggressive

Experience Level

Beginner to intermediate
(Hardy, but requires good filtration and space)

• Temperature: 10–22°C (50–72°F)
