Yellowfin Dwarf Angelfish – Centropyge flavipectoralis
Overview:
The Yellowfin Dwarf Angelfish is a vibrant and visually striking marine fish, featuring a deep blue to purple body with bright yellow fins. Its active swimming and bold coloration make it a standout in reef and community aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Western Pacific, commonly found around coral-rich reefs and lagoons.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – accepts flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and algae-based foods. Feeding a varied diet helps maintain its bright colors and overall health.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with semi-aggressive or similarly sized fish. Generally reef-safe but may nip at slow-growing corals or sessile invertebrates.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – may defend its territory, especially in smaller tanks. Providing ample hiding spaces helps reduce disputes.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate, hardy and adaptable, but care should be taken regarding tankmates and coral compatibility.
