Yuma Mushroom Colony Ricordea Yuma The Ricordea Yuma, also known as the Yuma Mushroom, is a unique member of the Corallimorpharia order. It is a fleshy polyp that does not create a hard skeleton like LPS or SPS corals. The Ricordea Yuma is found in a wide variety of color morphs, with green and purple being the most common. This coral is considered semi-aggressive and should be given space between it and other corals. It reproduces by longitudinal fission, meaning it develops a second mouth and then splits into two separate polyps. Ricordea Yumas prefer lower water flow, but they are more tolerant of high light levels than other mushroom corals. The Ricordea Yuma is native to the Indo-Pacific region. It requires natural saltwater parameters, including a salinity of around 1.026, calcium levels of 450 ppm, alkalinity of 8, and magnesium levels of 1400 ppm. They can be target fed with a soft coral food to supplement their nutrition. Ricordea Yumas are considered a beginner-friendly coral and are a popular choice for reef aquariums. They can be fragged by carefully cutting the coral, as long as a piece of the mouth is present in the new frag. Overall, the Ricordea Yuma is a unique and colorful addition to any reef tank.Above images for illustration purposes only.
