Zebra Octopus Octopus Chierchiae The zebra octopus, also known as the pygmy zebra octopus (Octopus chierchiae), is a remarkable cephalopod species native to the Pacific coast of Central America. This small octopus, reaching only the size of a table grape when fully grown, is characterized by its distinctive black and white striped pattern, which is as unique as human fingerprints.The zebra octopus is an opportunistic predator, feeding on a variety of small crustaceans, mollusks, and fish. Due to its small size, it is best suited for aquariums with ample hiding places and a capacity of at least 30 gallons. While generally peaceful, the zebra octopus can be territorial and may not be compatible with other octopus species or aggressive tankmates.
