Help and advice on shopping for: Fish Tank Lights

What is aquarium lighting?

Aquarium lighting is any electrical unit built to light an aquarium safely, such as LED bars and light units in every size and spectrum, plus the control systems, reflectors, and spare parts that support them. Every light unit we offer is specifically designed for use around water and aquatic life.

Do I need aquarium lights?

Light does more than help you see your fish. Live plants and corals rely on it for photosynthesis, colour in tropical and marine species depends on getting the spectrum right, and a consistent day-night cycle keeps fish settled, without lighting both plant growth and fish health will suffer.

What lighting types are available?

Our range is almost entirely LED: we carry units and bars for every tank size and spectrum, including freshwater, marine, planted, dimmable, and app-controlled options. Alongside these sit control systems for automated timing, a selection of reflectors, and spare parts to keep your lighting system running effectively.

What should I look for?

Match the LED spectrum and output to your setup: freshwater tanks suit balanced white light, planted tanks need higher output for photosynthesis, and reef tanks need blue-heavy spectrums for coral. Aim for roughly 8-12 hours of "daylight" a day using a timer or a control system, too little light stunts plant growth and stresses fish, too much encourages algae.
