Allen’s Damsel – Pomacentrus alleni
Overview:
Allen’s Damsel is a vibrant and hardy reef fish, featuring a brilliant blue body with yellow accents on the fins. Its energetic swimming and striking coloration make it a captivating addition to any marine aquarium.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, typically found around coral reefs and lagoons.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – thrives on flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. A varied diet supports vibrant coloration and overall health.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with semi-aggressive or similarly sized fish. Reef-safe with corals and invertebrates, but may defend its territory in smaller tanks.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – territorial behavior is common, especially in smaller aquariums, but manageable with ample space and hiding spots.
Experience Level:
Beginner-friendly, due to its hardiness and adaptability, though consideration of tankmate compatibility is recommended.
