Bandit Angelfish – Apolemichthys arcuatus
Overview:
The Bandit Angelfish is a rare and highly sought-after species, instantly recognizable by its bold black band running across a white body. Its striking appearance and graceful movements make it a prized showpiece for advanced marine aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Hawaiian Islands and Johnston Atoll, typically found in deeper reef environments.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — requires a diet rich in sponges, marine angelfish preparations, spirulina, mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful to moderately aggressive marine fish such as tangs, Wrasses, and anthias. Avoid housing with other angelfish unless in a very large system.
Aggression:
Generally peaceful, but may show territorial behavior toward similar-shaped species.
Experience Level:
Recommended for advanced aquarists, as they need pristine water quality, a large mature system, and a specialized diet.
