Chinese Soft Shell Turtle Pelodiscus Sinensis Juvenile 5cm Overview: The Chinese Soft Shell Turtle, scientifically known as Pelodiscus sinensis, is a captivating aquatic species originating from East Asia. Known for its unique appearance with a soft, leathery shell and webbed feet, these turtles make fascinating pets for enthusiasts of all ages. Origin: Originating from regions of China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, these turtles thrive in freshwater environments, adapting well to properly maintained tanks. Feeding: Feeding these turtles is relatively straightforward, as they have an omnivorous diet. They enjoy a mix of aquatic plants, insects, small fish, and commercial turtle pellets, ensuring a balanced and varied diet. Tank Mates: While Chinese Soft Shell Turtles generally prefer solitary living, compatible tank mates include fish species like mollies, guppies, or non-aggressive fish of similar size. Exercise caution when introducing tank mates, ensuring they don't pose a threat or become prey to the turtle. Aggression: These turtles typically display minimal aggression towards humans or other tank inhabitants. However, during feeding times, they might exhibit territorial behavior.
