What is Dennerle Plant Care NPK?

Dennerle Plant Care NPK is a macronutrient fertiliser that provides heavily planted aquariums with readily available sources of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium. These three macronutrients are particularly important for aquatic plants, but their levels are typically low in home aquariums.

Plant Care NPK boosts levels of nitrogen (nitrate), phosphorous (phosphate), and potassium and, in doing so, boosts plant growth. It also enhances the colours of your plants and helps them to develop large and healthy root networks in your substrate.

The nutrient ratios in Plant Care NPK have been chosen so that all three macronutrients are taken up by the plants in equal proportions. This means that even with long-term, regular use, there are no deficiencies or detrimental accumulation of individual nutrients. Nutrient imbalances must always be avoided, as they usually lead to algae problems.

How do I use Dennerle Plant Care NPK?

It’s recommended that you add 10ml of Dennerle Plant Care NPK per 100L of aquarium water once per week. This will increase nitrate levels by 5 mg/L, phosphate levels by 0.4 mg/L, and potassium levels by 2.5 mg/L. If your tap water has particularly high levels of one of these nutrients, then Plant Care NPK is not recommended. Use a specific macronutrient supplement, like Plant Care P, instead.
