What is Dennerle Plant Care P?

Dennerle Plant Care P is a phosphate (PO4) fertiliser intended for use on heavily planted, freshwater aquariums. Phosphate is an important macronutrient for aquatic plants and is needed in significant quantities to maintain healthy growth rates. Plant Care P provides a highly concentrated, targeted supply of phosphate for your aquatic plants.

How do I recognise phosphate deficiencies?

In home aquariums, phosphate deficiencies are very common. Signs of phosphate deficiencies include short shoots, small leaves, and little to no growth. Some species may also turn purple in response to phosphate deficiencies due to the accumulation of red leaf pigments (anthocyanins).

How do I use Dennerle Plant Care P?

To dose, simply add 2ml of Plant Care P per 100L of aquarium water. This will raise phosphate levels by ~0.2 mg/L. The recommended concentration of phosphate in aquarium water is 0.1-0.3 mg/L. To avoid outbreaks of algae, do not exceed concentrations of 1 mg/L. Plant Care P can be used as a weekly or daily fertiliser.
