Description
The Metallic Betta is a dazzling freshwater fish prized for its radiant, shimmering scales that reflect stunning hues of metallic blue, green, or gold under proper lighting. The Metallic Betta is perfect for hobbyists seeking a low-maintenance, visually captivating fish for a desktop or centerpiece aquarium.
Females are typically less aggressive than males and can sometimes be kept in groups called sororities, provided the tank is spacious and well-planted with plenty of hiding spots. While smaller and less flashy than males, she still offers breathtaking coloration and an elegant swimming style.
This betta thrives in calm, warm water with consistent water parameters. Low-flow filters, live or silk plants, and subdued lighting will help mimic their natural habitat and reduce stress.
A nutritious and varied diet enhances their iridescence and promotes optimal health. High-quality betta pellets, occasional treats like frozen daphnia or live brine shrimp, and a well-maintained tank are key to long-term success.
