Purple Queen Anthias – Pseudanthias tuka

Overview:
The Purple Queen Anthias is a striking and elegant marine fish, displaying vivid purple and pink hues with a subtle gradient along the body. Known for their active schooling behavior, they bring life and movement to mid-water levels of reef aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around deep coral reefs and drop-offs in areas such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.

Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other planktonic foods.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful community fish. Suitable companions include other anthias, reef-safe species, and schooling mid-water fish.

Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups of 6 or more, displaying natural schooling behavior.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and regular feeding.

Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 75+ gallons
