This Z-PhosFate Liquid Phosphate Remover is an extremely effective liquid PO4 remover that's designed for use in reef tanks. It works by binding with phosphate, making a larger compound that's easier for mechanical filters, like skimmers and filter rollers, to remove.

A large amount of PO4 is bad for marine aquariums, causing algae blooms that can quickly cover your underwater world in unsightly green and brown gunk. Too much PO4 can also suffocate your corals and stop their growth by restricting their calcium carbonate uptake.

How do I use this Z-PhosFate Liquid Phosphate Remover?

Prior to dosing this Z-PhosFate Liquid Phosphate Remover, it's important that you first measure the PO4 levels in your reef tank using a reliable test kit.

This PO4-removing solution should be dosed directly into your skimmer's pump or neck. It can be dosed using a dosing pump, though make sure you stick to the following guidelines when setting up your automatic system:

• PO4 = 0.04-0.25 ppm - dose 0.1-1ml per day per 100L
• PO4 = 0.26-1.00 ppm - dose 1.1-2.5ml per day per 100L
• PO4 = 1.10-5.0+ ppm - dose 2.5-5+ml per day per 100L

Avoid overdosing your system. While Z-PhosFate Liquid Phosphate Remover is reef-safe, too much can cause deposits of white flocculant to build up on your rocks, corals, and/or glass. It can also cause your fish breathing difficulties as the excess flocculant binds to their gills.
