Ritteri Anemone – Heteractis magnifica
Overview:
The Ritteri Anemone is a large and majestic anemone, famous for its vibrant colors and long, flowing tentacles. Known for hosting clownfish, it is a visually stunning centerpiece for any saltwater aquarium.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including Australia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Red Sea, where it inhabits coral reefs and sandy lagoons.
Feeding:
Carnivorous — thrives on meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialized anemone pellets. Supplementary feeding ensures optimal health and growth.
Tank Mates:
Compatible with clownfish species, gobies, and other non-aggressive reef fish. Avoid placing with aggressive or large predatory fish.
Aggression:
Can be aggressive toward other sessile invertebrates; maintain distance from corals and other anemones to prevent stinging.
Experience Level:
Recommended for advanced aquarists, as it requires stable water conditions, strong lighting, and proper flow.
