Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, ranging from the Red Sea and East Africa across to the central Pacific.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on a diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, fish, and other protein-rich offerings. Should be fed a varied mix of fresh or frozen seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with large, aggressive fish such as triggers, big Wrasses, and other groupers. Not suitable with small fish or ornamental invertebrates, as they will be eaten.
Aggression:
Highly territorial and predatory – requires plenty of space and should not be housed with small or timid tank mates.
Experience Level:
Advanced aquarists – demands a large, well-filtered aquarium, careful feeding, and thoughtful tank mate selection.
