Description:

The Haplochromis Moorii, commonly referred to as the Blue Dolphin Cichlid, is a striking species native to Lake Malawi. Named for its unique head shape that resembles a dolphin, this fish stands out with its metallic blue sheen and gentle hump as it matures.

Its sleek, bullet-shaped body is typical of the Cichlidae family. These fish bring lively motion and color to the tank, thriving when allowed to establish territory and interact naturally.

Tank Setup & Compatibility:

A spacious aquarium (minimum 66 gallons) with plenty of rockwork for hiding spots is essential. Haplochromis Moorii does well with other Haplochromis species in a roomy tank but may display aggression towards smaller or less robust fish.

Feeding:

This species is not fussy when it comes to food. Provide a balanced diet of high-quality dry, frozen, and live foods to maintain vibrant color and health. Variety is key—offer pellets, brine shrimp, krill, and occasional vegetable matter.
