Description:
Apistogramma Panduro is a visually striking dwarf cichlid known for its bold colouration and lively nature. Males display an impressive range of colours across their body and fins, while females maintain a subtle yet attractive appearance, often with golden tones and dark facial markings.
These fish thrive in a soft, sandy substrate with plenty of natural hiding places such as clay pots, driftwood, and rocks. Although they appreciate planted tanks, they also require open space for swimming and territorial displays. Their ideal habitat mimics the quiet, tannin-rich waters of their South American origins.
While generally peaceful in a community setting, Apistogramma Panduro may become territorial, especially during breeding periods. They should not be kept with small, delicate invertebrates such as dwarf shrimp. Larger, more resilient shrimp or snails may be acceptable in spacious tanks. For breeding, it's best to limit other tank mates or provide a dedicated breeding setup.
Feeding:
Feeding Apistogramma Panduro is uncomplicated, as they are not picky eaters. Offer a variety of high-quality foods including micro pellets, frozen or live brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. A balanced and varied diet will help maintain their vibrant colours and overall health.
