Description:

The Burundi variant of the Frontosa Cichlid (Cyphotilapia frontosa) is one of the most recognized and sought-after types due to its large nuchal hump and contrasting black and white vertical stripes. Originating from Lake Tanganyika, this deep-water species is known for its calm demeanor and majestic appearance.

Frontosa spend much of their time near the lakebed in their natural habitat and are best kept in species-only aquariums or with similarly tempered tankmates. Their territorial instincts are mild compared to other African cichlids, making them a favorite for display tanks.

Diet:

Frontosas are omnivores and thrive on high-quality flake or pellet foods. Supplementing their diet with freeze-dried or frozen krill and plankton enhances their coloration and overall health. Feed sparingly and avoid overfeeding to maintain water quality.
