What is Dennerle Nano Catappa Bark?

Dennerle Nano Catappa Bark is 100% natural and sustainably harvested from tropical almond trees. It has similar beneficial properties as Catappa Leaves, though it takes a lot, lot longer to break down. It can be used to decorate your aquarium and/or turn it into a blackwater paradise. This pack contains 8 pieces of Nano Catappa Bark.

Key Benefits:

  • Natural water conditioner
  • Creates tropical-like aquarium water for shrimp, crayfish, and fish
  • Contain numerous natural active ingredients that have a positive effect on water and fish, including valuable humic and fulvic acids
  • Protects the mucous membrane of fish and helps them avoid infections
  • Mildly acidify and stabilise the pH value of your aquarium
  • Premium quality: harvested directly from the tree, cleaned, dried, handpicked

How do I use Catappa Bark in an aquarium?

Prior to placing Catappa Bark in your aquarium, it’s a good idea to boil it in fresh water. This will remove any lingering bacteria and waterlog it, increasing the chances that it’ll sink when you finally add it to your aquarium.

After boiling your Catappa Bark, strain it and then add it to your aquarium – one piece of bark is sufficient for approximately 20 litres of water. If pre-boiled, or left for a day or two, the Catappa Bark will sink and start to release humins and tanning agents.

As natural products, Catappa Bark won’t last forever and will start to break down and lose its effectiveness. It’s recommended that you replace your Catappa Bark once it starts to break down and/or stops releasing tanning agents.
