Description:

The Eureka Peacock Cichlid is one of the most visually stunning cichlids from Lake Malawi, well-known for its vibrant red and electric blue hues. Its torpedo-shaped body and bold personality make it an eye-catching resident in any freshwater setup. These fish are active and confident, often seen patrolling their territory or interacting with tank mates.

Eureka Peacocks thrive in aquariums of 300 litres or more, with plenty of rocks, caves, and hiding spots to help establish territories and reduce stress. They generally coexist well with other Aulonocara species and may also be housed with peaceful Mbuna such as Yellow Labs, provided the tank is large enough. However, they may display aggression toward smaller or more timid fish.

Feeding:

Eureka Peacock Cichlids are not fussy eaters. They readily accept a variety of high-quality foods, including dry pellets, frozen treats, and live foods. Offering a well-rounded diet with good nutritional balance will help maintain their brilliant colouration and long-term vitality.
