What is Juwel Bio Media Medium?

Juwel Bio Medium Medium is a range of medium-sized filter media for Juwel filters. The range includes mechanical pre-filter media, biological filter medium and chemical filter media. By using these Juwel filter media together you can maintain a clear aquarium free from toxic compounds and odour compounds.

Which Bio Media is best?

Each Bio Media is designed to be the best at a slightly different job:

• BioPlus Coarse - This is a coarse pored filter sponge organic filter medium designed to mechanically filter large chunks of debris while also hosting helpful bacterial cultures for biological filtering.
• BioPlus Fine - This is a fine pored filter sponge organic filter medium designed to mechanically filter small grains of debris while also hosting helpful bacterial cultures for biological filtering.
• BioCarb - This top-quality filter media is a carbon sponge that chemically purifies the aquarium water, removing odours and toxins.
• BioPad - A version of Juwel's popular Poly Pad from the Bioflow filter system, this filter media is a polisher that removes the largest pieces of aquarium waste and further clears the water.

How long does Bio Media last?

Each piece of highly effective filter medium will last a different length of time depending on the size of your aquarium and the number of fish. The important thing to remember is to quickly swap out a piece of filter media as soon as you notice it is underperforming.
