Description:

The Kavala Frontosa is a location variant of Cyphotilapia frontosa, originating from the Kavala region of Lake Tanganyika. Like other frontosa types, it showcases bold black vertical bands over a bluish body, though coloration intensity can vary by location. Known for their majestic presence and calm swimming patterns, they are ideal for large, peaceful aquariums.

These cichlids are semi-aggressive, especially around spawning time, and prefer being in small harems. Their natural habitat consists of deep, rocky environments, and aquariums should mimic this with plenty of caves and hiding spots.

Diet:

Frontosa are omnivorous – they thrive on high-quality flake or pellet foods and should be given frozen or freeze-dried krill, plankton, or other protein-rich treats. Avoid overfeeding and ensure a balanced diet to maintain coloration and vitality.
