Description:

Livingstonii Haplochromis Cichlid is a stunning and fascinating species of African cichlid native to Lake Malawi. Often admired for its bold coloration and unique hunting technique, this species mimics being dead to attract curious smaller fish—an ambush strategy that has earned it the nickname "Sleeper Cichlid."

Tank Setup & Compatibility:

Best suited for species-specific or large African cichlid aquariums with plenty of space and rock structures. A minimum 66-gallon tank is essential, though larger is preferred for adults. Tank mates should be robust and similar in size. Avoid small or timid fish, as this species may show aggressive or predatory behavior.

Feeding:

This fish is an opportunistic carnivore. In captivity, it thrives on a diet of high-quality pellets, flakes, frozen krill, bloodworms, and live foods. Feeding a variety of protein-rich items will enhance coloration and vitality. Avoid overfeeding and provide regular, balanced meals.
