Description:

The Mpimbwe Frontosa is a striking geographical variant of Cyphotilapia frontosa from the Mpimbwe region of Lake Tanganyika. Known for its beautiful electric blue highlights and pronounced banding, this variety is highly sought after by cichlid enthusiasts.

These fish prefer deeper parts of the lake and thrive in aquariums with subdued lighting, plenty of space, and rocky hiding places. They are best kept in a single-species setup or with compatible large, peaceful African cichlids. As they mature, males may show territorial behavior.

Diet:

Frontosas are omnivores and do well on a high-quality flake or pellet food base. Supplement their diet with occasional treats such as freeze-dried or frozen krill and plankton. A varied diet helps maintain health and enhance their natural colours.
