Description:

The Cyphotilapia Frontosa is a majestic African cichlid found in the deep waters of Lake Tanganyika, one of Africa’s Great Lakes. Known for its bold vertical banding and distinctive hump on adult males, this species is prized by aquarists for both its beauty and calm temperament.

Frontosa cichlids are slow swimmers that prefer deeper regions and should be provided with ample hiding spaces and subdued lighting. Although semi-aggressive, they can be kept in groups with proper tank space and are best suited for species-only setups or with similarly tempered tankmates.

Diet:

Omnivorous – Frontosas thrive on high-quality flake or pellet food. They also enjoy protein-rich treats like freeze-dried or frozen krill and plankton. A varied diet will help maintain their health and enhance their vibrant colours.
