What is the Hobby Floating Breeder Box?
The Hobby Floating Breeder Box, also known as the Nido 1, is a small, floating breeder box that can adjust itself to the water level of your aquarium. It’s designed for housing viviparous fish (those that give birth to live young), but it can also be used to temporarily separate aggressive fish during territorial disputes.
Constructed from a lightweight but durable plastic, this Hobby Floating Breeder Box is designed to last and support many generations of fry. It has several neat features too, including an adjustable central partition and a false bottom that separates newborn fry from their parents. This is great as it increases fry survival rates.
How do I use the Hobby Floating Breeder Box?
The Hobby Floating Breeder Box is incredibly easy to use, simply assemble it according to the supplied instructions and then place it inside your aquarium. It’s designed to float and will adjust itself to the water level of your aquarium. Once installed, fish can be placed inside by removing the lid and adjusting the central partition.
The Hobby Floating Breeder Box is 19.5 x 11 x 9cm and provides roughly two litres of space. It’s intended for use inside your aquarium, it cannot be used externally.
