Which accessories do I need in my shopping basket?
When you order a new pump for your pond, it's a good idea to order a few extra accessories as well to ensure peak performance. We recommend looking for a cleaning kit and at least one spare part for each of the moving pieces within your pump.
Swell UK stock many top brands including Fishmate, Oase and Blagdon which each offer their own replacement parts for their most popular models in each category. You may also wish to order some fountain jet attachments to ensure the best results in your pond.
Are these accessories suitable for use in fish tanks or an aquarium?
No, these accessories are not suitable for use in fish tanks or aquariums as they have been specifically designed for use in ponds. If you wish to order accessories for your aquarium you can order them in the aquarium section on the Swell UK website.

Where can I find Oase replacement impellers?

Simply find the right impeller line for your specific pond pumps (i.e. an Aquamax Eco Impeller if you own an Aquamax Eco Pump) and then you'll find everything you need to maintain your Oase impeller in one convenient place to add to your cart and order. Beyond the impellers, there are several accessories including net bags, control kits and safety grids to add to your shopping basket.
Where can I find replacement parts for my Blagdon pump?

How can I maintain my pump?
Whilst carrying out maintenance, check for dirt or debris and remove if necessary. This will prolong the life of your pump and keep your pond looking good. It's also a good idea to check on the impeller, particularly if you are experiencing a low flow rate.
To access the impeller, remove the filter basket on your pump and any external housing to reveal the door to the impeller housing. Unscrew the impeller and remove it, this may take some force as most impellers are magnetised into place - be careful and protect the delicate ceramic impeller shaft. If the impeller looks worn away or chewed up, it's worth fitting a replacement for the best results.

How do I increase my pump's flow?
If the flow of your pond seems to be slower than the maximum for your pump there are a few things you can do to improve it. Checking on the impeller and giving the whole pump a deep clean is a good first step, as this will remove any obvious blockages.
If you're still having issues with flow rate, it can be a good idea to check the amount of power going to the pump and ensure that it is the right amount for that specific pump. If the power level seems correct we recommend swapping out any spare parts you have before finally calling the Swell UK team.
How do I stop my pump blocking?
While filters and various protective cage products will do a lot to help your pump avoid a blockage, there is no failsafe way of avoiding something causing a block.
However, regular cleaning and treatments will allow you to clear any small blocks before they cause a backup or breakage. This is why maintenance is the key to great results with all pump items.
How do I protect my pump?
While pumps do often break, few things would label a pump beyond repair. In most cases, the pump will simply need a replacement impeller or a good clean to start working again.
There are a few things you can do to protect your pump, including fitting a filter bag or protective cage. You can order protective accessories from Swell UK for quick delivery with low wait times.
