They feature a thermal cut off switch that prevents your pond pump from overheating and cuts out the power supply if you attempt to run the pump dry. They also come with strainer cages that keep abrasive waste solids out, protecting the pump's delicate internal components and increasing its overall longevity.

The 1450, 2500 and 3500 models also include a stepped hosetail adapter and an adjustable outlet to power an additional waterfall or pond filter.

How do fountain pumps work?

A water fountain can either spray water into the air or create a waterfall effect and keep a garden pond aerated. The pump, which is submerged, uses power to move the water while the spinning impeller pumps water in and forces it out. The water forced from the pump is delivered to the fountain where it is sprayed into the air through a fountain head. The water that is sprayed into the air will then fall back into your pond.

What size fountain pump do I need for my pond?

Pump flow rates drop when you pump higher and further than your pond. You should aim to purchase a pump that meets your equipment's maximum flow rate at its height above pond level. For more information about how to choose the right size pump for your pond, check out our help guide here.

• Fountain Pumps 750 & 1000 - fountain only.
• Fountain Pump 1450 - Stepped hose adapter for 1/2", 3/4" 1" pond hose.
• Fountain Pump 2500 - Stepped hose adapter for 1/2", 3/4" 1" pond hose.
• Fountain Pump 3500 - Stepped hose adapter for ¾", 1", 1 ¼" and 1 ½" pond hose.

Also, please note the following:

• The hose tail fitting when using the fountain is 12mm only.
• To comply with UK electrical legislation, these pond pumps are NOT supplied with a fitted plug. You'll have to purchase a fitted plug separately.
• The pond pump's impeller is a consumable part that, over time, can wear down. This component is not covered by the guarantee on the pond pump. A spare can be purchased as and when required, though.
