What is the Tropica Bacopa Live Aquatic Plant?
The Tropica Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri) is a live aquatic plant that is great to use in the middle or front of your aquarium. This plant has a low light demand and also requires low levels of CO2, making it perfect for a wide range of aquariums.
This culture form of the stalk plant Bacopa monnieri is more compact and, under good light conditions, almost a creeping plant. By pinching off all vertical growing shoots, the plant can maintain a low and close growth, since it willingly creates a large number of side shoots.
Furthermore, this plant grows well in the shadow of other plants. The Bacopa monnieri is very suitable as a higher carpet or bushy plant in the middle or front of the aquarium. This plant becomes more vertical growing and less compact without CO2 additive and decreased light conditions.
How do I plant Tropica Bacopa Live Aquatic Plant?
The easiest way to plant in your aquarium is at a water level of just a few centimeters from the bottom. You can choose to plant when the aquarium is full, but it may be more of a challenge to plant properly in the substrate.
When refilling, be careful not to stir up the bottom layer of substrate until the water level is approximately 2cm above the gravel. Keep a spray mister ready to keep your plants damp while you are working.
If necessary, cut off the overgrown roots so that the pot and stone wool can be removed. Trim the roots to approximately 4cm. Plant the stems one by one in a group.
