What is API Aqua Essential?

API Aqua Essential is an all-in-one, highly concentrated water conditioner that instantly makes your tap water safe for your fish. It removes chlorine and chloramine and detoxifies heavy metals – harmful substances often found in tap water. It also lowers toxic levels of ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite in your aquarium using its unique binding formula.

API Aqua Essential is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater use. It’s super concentrated, so both the 237ml bottle and the 473ml bottle will last you a long, long time, no matter the size of your aquarium. The 237ml bottle can treat up to 9,000L of water, while the 473ml can treat up to 17,900L of water.

How do I use API Aqua Essential?

It’s recommended that you use API Aqua Essential on start-up and whenever you add or change water in your aquarium. It can also be dosed in response to elevated ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels.

To dose, simply use the dosing cap that doubles up as the bottle’s lid and measure out 5ml of water conditioner per 190L of water. When dosing to reduce levels of ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite, add 5ml per 38L of water.
