What are Hozelock Aquaforce Pumps?
Hozelock Aquaforce Pumps are powerful pond pumps that can handle solids of up to 10 mm and offer high flow rates from 1000-15000 lph. Ceramic bearings maximise the life of the pump and a conical impeller improves performance while a self-cooling system also makes sure that the unit does not overheat. The Hozelock Aquaforce range of solids handling pumps all incorporate a Wildlife Protection System that can be adjusted. This means that small fish, newts and frogs will not be drawn into the pump.
What are the benefits of this Hozelock Aquaforce pond pump?
The Hozelock Aquaforce Pond Pump has an increased cage surface area, which allows the maximum amount of waste and debris to be collected and pumped to the filter. With a large cage surface area, the pump is far less likely to clog, making the Aquaforce a low maintenance pump. It can be placed on its side or flat, making it ideal for even the smallest of ponds.
Key Features:
- Can handle solids up to 10mm
- Flow rates from 1000-15000lph
- Features a self-cooling system
- Large cage surface area to prevent clogging
- Great for clearing waste and debris
- Low maintenance
How can I keep pond water clear of debris?
Larger models of the Hozelock Aquaforce pump can be used in conjunction with a satellite strainer. Aquaforce pumps have a second inlet allowing the use of a skimmer or satellite filter. By adding a satellite filter cage you can filter from another area in your pond to improve water clarity. By attaching a skimmer, it will remove floating leaves and surface debris, improving pond clarity.
What size pump and fittings do I need for my pond?
The right size pond pump is an important part of a pond's ecosystem. A Hozelock Aquaforce pump will move water to a filter that cleans the water. A pumps flow rate drops when you pump higher and further than the pond, so you need to consider these effects. You should aim to purchase a pump that meets the maximum flow rate of your filter at its height above pond level. Check out our helpful guide on choosing the right size pump for your pond. You'll also need some ribbed anti-kink pond hose and some hose clips to keep the hose firmly attached to the pump.
