What is this Swell Air Driven Corner Filter?

This Swell Air Driven Corner Filter is a compact filter that's been designed to sit snuggly in the corner of a small tank up to 40L. Its plastic shell houses a layer of gravel for biological filtration and a coarse sponge for mechanical filtration. It also contains an air stone, which creates a stream of fine bubbles when air is driven through its base.

How do I install this Swell Air Driven Corner Filter?

This Swell Air Driven Corner Filter is quick and easy to install. Before you place it inside your aquarium, push the elbow-shaped spout into the small hole at the base of the filter. After that, attach one end of an airline to an air pump and the other to the open end of the elbow-shaped spout (airlines and air pumps are sold separately). If you've done all that correctly, you should start to see bubbles rising out of the plastic spout at the top of the filter.

To keep your Swell Air Driven Corner Filter clean, just remove it from your aquarium and pop off the top of the plastic housing. From there, you can remove the sponge and squeeze it in a bucket of tank water (or dechlorinated water). This will remove a lot of the trapped debris that may have built up in the sponge. Be careful not to clean your filter in regular tap water, the chlorine, chloramines and trace heavy metals may kill your colony of beneficial bacteria.
