Help and advice on shopping for: Aquarium Fish Food
What types of aquarium fish food is there?
We stock many types of food: tropical and coldwater flakes and pellets for staple every day feeding, live and frozen food for a diet closest to natural, freeze-dried as an alternative to live or frozen, fry food for baby fish, holiday blocks for when you're away, brine shrimp eggs to hatch yourself, and turtle and terrapin food for aquatic reptiles.
Which type of food should I choose?
For everyday feeding, tropical or coldwater flakes and pellets are designed to suit most community tanks, but be sure they're the right size for your fish. Bottom feeders, like catfish and loaches, prefer sinking pellets, while surface feeders consume flakes easily. Fry need small but frequent feeds until they grow, and live or frozen food is best for fussy or carnivorous species.

How much food should I buy?
Fish food loses nutritional value once opened, so we always recommend to purchase the amount you'll use up within a few months rather than stockpiling. Feed only what can be consumed within a few minutes once or twice a day, and remove any uneaten food after this time. Overfeeding can cause poor water quality and negatively affect the health of your livestock.
